“The antiviral drug Eloprin contains the active substance – inosine pranobex, which suppresses in vitro reproduction of viruses from the herpes group that are pathogenic for humans.
Indications
Maintenance use in people with reduced immunity, with recurrent upper respiratory tract infections.
In the treatment of herpes of the lips and facial skin caused by the herpes simplex virus.
The antiviral drug should only be used in patients who have been diagnosed with a herpes simplex virus infection in the past.
If you do not feel better or feel worse after 5 to 14 days, contact your doctor.
Active ingredient: Inosinum pranobexum.
Compound
Active substance
The active ingredient of the drug is inosine pranobex (a complex containing inosine and 2-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium 4-acetamidobenzoate in a molar ratio of 1:3).
1 ml of syrup contains 50 mg of inosine pranobex.
5 ml of syrup (1 scoop) contains 250 mg of inosine pranobex.
Other Ingredients
methyl parahydroxybenzoate [E 218], propyl parahydroxybenzoate [E 216], sucrose, citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, orange liquid flavor, purified water.
Dosage
The medicine should be taken orally.
Adults, including elderly (over 65 years old)
The recommended daily dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day (1 ml per 1 kg body weight per day), usually 3 g (i.e. 60 ml syrup) per day, in 3 or 4 divided doses.
The maximum dose of pranobex-inosine is 4 g per day (i.e. 80 ml of syrup per day).
Children over 1 year old
The usually recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day (1 ml syrup per 1 kg body weight per day) in 3 or 4 equally divided doses taken daily.

Duration of treatment
Treatment usually lasts from 5 to 14 days. After the symptoms disappear, the drug is usually continued for another 1-2 days.
Use of the drug in children and adolescents
The medicine should not be used in children under 1 year of age.
Contraindications
When you should not use Eloprin:
if you are allergic to inosine pranobex or any of the other ingredients of this medicine; Signs of an allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue;
if you are currently suffering from an attack of gout (severe joint pain with swelling and redness of the skin or effusion in large joints) or tests have shown elevated levels of uric acid in the blood.”
