The drug Povidone Iodine Teva is a local antiseptic formulated with iodine. It is used to locally treat skin and mucous membrane conditions that are infected or susceptible to infection. It is also used as an antiseptic , in the case of superficial wounds or burns of little extent, and for the antisepsis of the skin of the surgical field.
This solution for cutaneous application contains 10 g of Povidone iodine per 100 ml of solution. The other ingredients are nonoxynol 9, glycerol, sodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, citric acid monohydrate, 30% sodium hydroxide solution and purified water.
