The drug Septeal in solution for local application is an antiseptic. This disinfectant will therefore fight against the proliferation of microbes.
It is used in the antisepsis of surgical or traumatic wounds, in certain skin diseases with infection, or for the antisepsis of healthy skin before minor surgery.
Composition of Septeal antiseptic
The active ingredient of Septeal is chlorhexidine digluconate while its excipients are: ethyl alcohol 95 percent v/v, purified water. It should therefore not be used if you are allergic to any of them.
Using the Septeal solution
Septeal will be used pure by brushing on the skin using a compress twice a day. It is not necessary to rinse it.
It cannot be used for the disinfection of equipment or the operating field and must not be mixed with other antiseptics.
Contraindications of Septeal disinfectant
Septeal will not be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women, in premature babies, in the eyes, ears or on mucous membranes. Wounds on the head or deep wounds on the arm or legs will not be treated with this antiseptic because it must not come into contact with the brain or nerves.
