Active ingredient: furagin (Furaginum)
1 tablet contains furagin 50 mg.
Excipients: corn starch, sucrose, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, stearic acid.
Dosage
Always use this medication exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults: first day of treatment – 2 tablets 4 times a day; subsequent days – 2 tablets 3 times a day.
The drug is taken orally with meals (they contain protein that increases the absorption of the drug).
The medicine is used for 7-8 days.
Action
UroFuragin has antibacterial (bacteriostatic) properties against gram-positive bacteria (staphylococci) and gram-negative bacteria (escherichia, enterobacteria, protea, klebsiella). Has antiprotozoal activity. The effect of furagin (furazidin) is stronger in an acidic environment.
Indications
lower urinary tract infection.
Contraindications
If you are allergic (hypersensitivity) to furagin, other nitrofuran derivatives or any other ingredients of urofuragin.
First trimester of pregnancy.
During full-term pregnancy (from the 38th week) and childbirth due to the risk of developing hemolytic anemia (anemia associated with the breakdown of red blood cells) in the newborn.
In children and adolescents.
If you suffer from renal failure and laboratory tests show a creatinine clearance below 60 ml/min or an increased serum creatinine level.
If you have been diagnosed with polyneuropathy (a disease of the nervous system), for example due to diabetes.
If you have a deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (an enzyme involved in the metabolism of red blood cells).”
