The medicine is used.
in unstable angina (heart pain due to poor circulation in the coronary arteries) – as part of standard therapy
in acute myocardial infarction – as part of standard therapy
to prevent another heart attack after the first heart attack (to prevent reinfarction)
after surgery or other procedures on arterial blood vessels (after arterial vascular surgery or interventional procedures, such as after coronary artery venous bypass grafting [ACVB], during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty [PTCA])
to prevent temporary insufficient blood flow to the brain (TIA: transient ischemic attacks) and brain infarctions after the occurrence of previous stages (for example, temporary paralysis of the muscles of the face or arms, or temporary loss of vision).
Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, this is the usual dose.
For unstable angina (heart pain due to problems with blood circulation in the coronary arteries)
The recommended daily dose is 2 tablets (equivalent to 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid per day).
For acute myocardial infarction
The recommended daily dose is 2 tablets (equivalent to 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid per day).
To prevent a second heart attack after a first heart attack (recurrent heart attack prevention).
The recommended daily dose of acetylsalicylic acid is 300 mg. Tablets with a higher dosage of the active ingredient are available for this purpose.
After surgery or other procedures on arterial vessels (after arterial vascular surgery or interventional procedures; e.g. after ACVB; during PTCA)
The recommended daily dose is 2 tablets (equivalent to 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid per day).
The most appropriate time to start treatment with the drug after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is 24 hours after the operation.
For the prevention of transient cerebral insufficiency (TIA) and cerebral infarction after the development of previous stages.
The recommended daily dose is 1-2 tablets (equivalent to 50-100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid per day).
Contraindications
The drug should not be taken
if you have hypersensitivity (allergy) to acetylsalicylic acid or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
if you have had asthma attacks or other hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions to salicylates (a group of substances related to acetylsalicylic acid) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the past.
in acute gastric and intestinal ulcers
in case of pathologically increased tendency to bleeding (hemorrhagic diathesis)
in case of liver and kidney failure
in case of severe weakness of the heart muscle (heart failure) that has not been adequately treated
if you also take 15 mg or more of methotrexate per week
in the last 3 months of pregnancy at a dosage of more than 150 mg of acetylsalicylic acid per day.”
