Improves the secretory function of the respiratory tract epithelium, the surface-active properties of the pulmonary surfactant, stimulates the functions of the epithelial villi, affects the exudative and proliferative phases of inflammation. Liquefies sputum and facilitates the secretion of mucus from the respiratory tract. Acts as a local antiseptic on the mucous membranes of the pharynx and bronchi. Studies have shown that taking the drug reduces the tone of the smooth muscles of the bronchioles and trachea, increases the size of the bronchioles and alveolar sacs, and reduces swelling of the mucous membranes.
