Scope
Nicofrenone is used to relieve nicotine withdrawal symptoms and to support smoking cessation in people with nicotine addiction.
Dosage
When starting treatment with nicofrenone, you must completely quit smoking.
Nicotine-containing patches are available in three dosages: nicofrenone 7 mg/24 hours, nicofrenone 14 mg/24 hours and nicofrenone 21 mg/24 hours.
Thus, over the course of 9-12 weeks, less and less nicotine is gradually supplied. This rids the body of nicotine and at the same time significantly reduces the physical withdrawal symptoms.
If your desire to smoke has significantly decreased prematurely, you can switch to a weaker patch after just one week. To reduce nicotine replacement towards the end of treatment, nicofrenone 7 mg/24 hours is suitable.
The maximum daily dose in total should not exceed 64 mg.
Directions for use.
Apply the transdermal patch to a healthy, hairless, dry and clean area of skin (free from any lotion, alcohol, ointment, etc.), preferably on the upper arm (inside or outside).
Other body parts that need to be applied include the shoulder area or upper thigh. The transdermal patch should be pressed with the palm of the hand for 10-20 seconds.
Under no circumstances should the same area of skin be used for several days to apply the transdermal patch, i.e. the area of skin should be changed every day.
Duration of use
Weaning occurs gradually (see dosage chart).
The total duration of use can be up to 3 months.
Note:
There are no studies on the duration of treatment exceeding 3 months and on dosages of nicofrenone exceeding 1 transdermal patch per day.
Storage:
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the package and carton after “”Use by””. The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
Do not store at temperatures above 25°C.”
