It is used for the symptomatic treatment of elderly patients with dizziness of various origins.
Dosage
The recommended dose for adults weighing over 56 kg is:
One in the morning and, if necessary, another hard capsule of prolonged action closer to the evening (which corresponds to 120 mg or 240 mg of dimenhydrinate per day).
A maximum of 3 hard capsules can be taken per day (equivalent to 360 mg dimenhydrinate per day).
Duration of use:
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the capsules are intended for short-term use only. The maximum duration of use is two weeks.
The medicine must not be used
if you are allergic to dimenhydrinate, other antihistamines or any of the other ingredients of this medicine,
in acute asthma attacks,
in glaucoma (closed-angle glaucoma),
if you have a tumor of the adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma),
if you suffer from a disorder of the production of blood pigments (porphyria),
in case of enlargement of the prostate gland (prostatic hyperplasia) with the formation of residual urine,
if you suffer from seizures (epilepsy, eclampsia),
if you suffer from cardiac arrhythmia (eg, rapid heartbeat, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome).
In general, dimenhydrinate active ingredient should not be used if you weigh less than 6 kg.”
