Teach and encourage children to brush their teeth
The child can start brushing his teeth on his own, but with your help.
Start with a soft-bristle toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste with a fruity flavor kids love. Ready? Start:
- Brush the teeth from left to right and top to bottom using short, gentle strokes.
- Repeat the same from the inside.
- Brush your teeth twice a day, for at least 2 minutes a day.
Your role is to finish brushing after your baby does. Most young children can’t brush their teeth thoroughly until around the age of 6.
