“Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is a medicine intended for adults and children over 7 years of age. Its active ingredient is nifuroxaide with antibacterial activity, used for acute and chronic bacterial diarrhea.
The active substance is nifuroxazide (Nifuroxazidum).
1 film-coated tablet contains 100 mg of nifuroxazide.
Excipients: colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, potato starch, gelatin, talc, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol 20000, quinoline yellow (E 104).
Dosage
Always take this medication exactly as directed in the package insert or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
The recommended dose for adults, adolescents and children over 7 years of age is 2 film-coated tablets 4 times a day every 6 hours.
Do not stop treatment before 3 days have passed, even if you feel better.
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter is intended for oral administration; the tablets should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of water.
Action
Nifuroxazide Gedeon Richter exhibits antibacterial activity in the intestinal lumen against certain types of bacteria. It does not destroy the natural bacterial flora of the digestive tract and does not cause resistant strains. The drug is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is excreted unchanged from the body.”
