“Nutramigen PURAMINO is a hypoallergenic, lactose- and sucrose-free milk substitute indicated for use in infants from birth and children in the diagnosis and nutritional treatment of allergies to food proteins, including:
allergy to cow’s milk proteins and soy proteins,
multi-food allergy,
when an elemental diet is indicated.
Basic preparation. Nutramigen PURAMINO does not contain full molecular proteins or peptides, but only free amino acids. Contains all the nutrients to meet your baby’s nutritional needs. This may be the only source of food. After completion of the 6th month of life, provides all nutrients as part of a varied diet for infants and children. It also contains a special blend of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). Medium chain triglycerides are a readily available source of fat and energy for malabsorption disorders.
The attending physician should evaluate how much of the drug should be given to a child whose diet includes complementary foods later/differently than recommended for healthy young children.
Action
Special dietary food contains protein hydrolysate with a high degree of hydrolysis. Suitable for non-breastfed babies from birth to 6 months. and at this time it may be the only source of food.
