“The antiviral drug Eloprin Forte contains the active substance – inosine pranobex, which suppresses in vitro reproduction of viruses from the herpes group that are pathogenic for humans.
Indications
Maintenance use in people with reduced immunity, with recurrent upper respiratory tract infections.
In the treatment of herpes of the lips and facial skin caused by the herpes simplex virus.
The antiviral drug should only be used in patients who have been diagnosed with a herpes simplex virus infection in the past.
If you do not feel better or feel worse after 5 to 14 days, contact your doctor.
Active ingredient: Inosinum pranobexum.
Compound
Contains 1 ml of syrup.
inosine pranobex 100 mg.
Contains 5 ml syrup.
inosine pranobex 500 mg.
salts of 4-acetamidobenzoic acid with N,N-2-dimethylamino-2-propanol in a molar ratio of 1:3).
Other ingredients: Methyl parahydroxybenzoate [E 218]; Propyl parahydroxybenzoate [E 216]; sucrose; citric acid monohydrate; Sodium hydroxide; Liquid strawberry flavor; Distilled water.
Dosage
Always use this medication exactly as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor. If you have any doubts, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The medicine should be taken orally.
Adults, including elderly (over 65 years old)
The recommended daily dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day (0.5 ml of syrup per 1 kg of body weight per day), usually 3 g (i.e. 30 ml of syrup) per day, administered in 3 or 4 divided doses.
The maximum dose of inosine pranobex is 4 g (i.e. 40 ml of syrup) per day.
Children over 1 year old
The usually recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day (0.5 ml syrup per 1 kg body weight per day) in 3 or 4 equally divided doses taken daily.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents
The medicine should not be used in children under 1 year of age.
Contraindications
When should you not use Eloprin Forte:
if you are allergic to inosine pranobex or any of the other ingredients of this medicine; Signs of an allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue;
if the patient is currently suffering from an attack of gout (severe joint pain with swelling, redness of the skin, or effusion in large joints) or tests have shown elevated levels of uric acid in the blood.
Notes on use
Eloprin Forte contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, sucrose and sodium.
Eloprin Forte contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate, which may cause allergic reactions (possibly with delayed action).
Eloprin Forte also contains sucrose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
1 ml of Eloprin Forte syrup contains 650 mg of sucrose. This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes.
Eloprin Forte contains sodium in the form of sodium hydroxide, an excipient added in the amount necessary to adjust the pH. This should be considered when used in patients with reduced renal function or in patients on a controlled sodium diet.
