“Compound
The active ingredient is inosine pranobexum (Inosinum pranobexum).
1 tablet contains 500 mg of inosine pranobex (a complex containing inosine and 2-hydroxypropyldimethylammonium-4-acetamidobenzoate in a molar ratio of 1:3).
Excipients: potato starch, povidone K-25, magnesium stearate.
Indications
immunodeficiency conditions caused by viral infections in patients with normal and weakened immune systems/incl. diseases caused by the Herpes simplex virus (type Gi type II, genital herpes and herpes of other localizations); subacute sclerosing panencephalitis

Precautionary measures
The drug should be prescribed with caution with xanthine oxidase inhibitors, diuretics, zidovudine, in case of acute liver failure.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), because its safety in this category of patients has not been established.
Directions for use and doses
The drug is prescribed orally at regular intervals (8 or 6 hours) 3-4 times a day. Tablets are taken after meals with a small amount of water. Unless the doctor prescribes otherwise, they usually take: adults: 6 to 8 tablets per day, divided into 3 to 4 doses; children: from 2 to 12 years: 50 mg/kg body weight body weight per day, divided into 3 – 4 doses; Equally, in both adults and children, in case of severe infectious diseases, the dose can be increased individually under the supervision of a physician to 100 mg / kg body weight per day, divided into 4 – 6 techniques. The drug is usually used for 5 days, sometimes longer, depending on the course of the disease. After an 8-day break, the course of treatment can be repeated.
Side effects
During the initial period of treatment, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are possible; a slight increase in the concentration of uric acid in the blood and urine; allergic reactions.
Overdose
In case of overdose, gastric lavage and symptomatic therapy are indicated.”
