The active ingredient is naproxen.
1 g of gel contains 100 mg of naproxen (as napnoxen sodium).
Excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), ethanol 96%, propylene glycol, hydroxypropylcellulose, purified water.
Dosage
The gel is applied topically to the skin. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days of taking the medicine, consult your doctor. The dosage of Opokanan Actigel for adults and children over 3 years of age is approximately 5 cm of a wrung-out strip of the drug, applied to the sore spot, on previously cleansed and dried skin. The gel should be gently rubbed into the skin 4-5 times a day. The maximum daily dose is 500 mg of naproxen, which is a strip of gel approximately 25 cm long. Wash your hands after using the medicine.
Action
Opokan Actigel is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug in the form of a gel for application to the skin, containing the active substance naproxen and DSMO, an excipient that increases absorption, thereby quickly providing pain relief.
Indications
Opokan Actigel is used for: post-traumatic pain in muscles and joints (sprains, dislocations, bruises), pain in the spine, pain due to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Contraindications
Opokan Actigel should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients, as well as to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and salicylates. Contraindications to the use of the drug are skin damage (cuts, open, weeping wounds, eczema).
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Applying the drug to large areas of the skin or under a bandage may cause the following side effects, which are very rare: itching, rash (itchy, red bumps on the skin), hives (light pink, itchy blisters on the skin), burning. , redness of the skin; severe allergic reactions such as: difficulty breathing, coughing attacks, swelling of the face, shortness of breath, palpitations (uneven, rapid heartbeat).
Opokan Actigel increases skin sensitivity to sunlight (see section “”Warnings and Precautions””).
Long-term use of the gel, especially over large areas of the skin, may cause side effects typical of the systemic action of naproxen, such as: gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, abdominal pain); worsening symptoms of stomach and/or duodenal ulcers; jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes); kidney problems; headaches and dizziness; decreased concentration, insomnia; tinnitus, visual impairment.
If any of the above symptoms occur, stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.”
