“Composition
The active substance is acetylcysteine.
Each effervescent tablet contains 600 mg of acetylcysteine.
Excipients:
citric acid anhydrous (European Ph.), sodium bicarbonate, lemon flavoring (contains sucrose), adipic acid, povidone K25, aspartame.
NAC-ratiopharm ® acute is used
to dissolve mucus and facilitate coughing in respiratory diseases with thick mucus.
Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the recommended dose is:
Total daily dose
Young people over 14 years of age and adults
½ effervescent tablet twice a day or
1 effervescent tablet once a day.
Claim type:
NAC-ratiopharm ® is taken acutely after meals.
Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of drinking water and drink the entire contents of the glass.
Note.
The expectorant effect of NAC-ratiopharm® acute is enhanced by additional fluid intake.
The tablets can be divided into equal doses.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 4-5 days of treatment, you should consult a doctor.
If you forget to take NAC-ratiopharm® acute:
Do not take a double dose if you have forgotten the previous dose, but continue taking it as described next time.
NAC-ratiopharm® acute should not be taken
if you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients of the drug
children under 2 years of age
Warnings and precautions:
Please consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking NAC-ratiopharm® acute .
In case of liver or kidney failure, NAC-ratiopharm ® should not be used acutely, in order to avoid further intake of nitrogen-containing substances.
Caution should be exercised if you suffer from bronchial asthma or suffer or have suffered from a stomach or intestinal ulcer.
Very rarely, severe skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell’s syndrome have been reported in connection with the use of acetylcysteine. If changes occur on the skin and mucous membranes, you should immediately consult a doctor and stop using acetylcysteine.
Children
NAC-ratiopharm ® acute should not be prescribed to children and adolescents under 14 years of age due to the high content of the active substance. Medicines with a lower content of the active substance are available for this age group.
How should NAC-ratiopharm ® be stored in the acute period?
Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and in the tablet tube after “”Use by””. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.
Do not store above 25°C. After use, close the tablet tube tightly to protect the contents from moisture.”
