“Composition
Active ingredients:
1 film-coated tablet contains: scopolamine butylbromide 10 mg.
Excipients;
Coated tablets (dragees): sucrose, calcium hydrogen phosphate, corn starch, talc, colloidal silicon dioxide, gum arabic, soluble starch, titanium dioxide (E171), povidone K25, tartaric acid, stearic acid, macrogol 6000, bleached wax, carnauba wax.
Buscopan has an antispasmodic and, therefore, analgesic effect on the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. Buscopan relieves pain in spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as constipation with spasms.
Dosage
Children under 6 years:
The use and safety of Buscopan dragees in children under 6 years of age have not yet been studied.
Adults and school-age children over 6 years of age:
1–2 dragees 3–5 times a day. The dragee should be swallowed whole with a small amount of liquid.
Buscopan should not be used.
in very rare diseases: myasthenia (muscle disease)
in megacolon (colon disease).
in the presence of mechanical strictures in the gastrointestinal tract (for example, due to a tumor or bowel kink) or if this is suspected,
if the intestine is blocked and does not work properly (intestinal obstruction or paralysis, leading to severe abdominal pain with no bowel movement and/or nausea/vomiting),
if you have hypersensitivity to scopolamine butylbromide or any other component of the drug.
One Buscopan dragee contains 41.2 mg of sucrose. At the maximum recommended dosage, this corresponds to 411.8 mg of sucrose per day. If you know that you suffer from sugar intolerance, take Buscopan only after consulting your doctor.
Store Buscopan dragees at room temperature (15–25°C).”
