“DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) consumed by the mother supports proper brain and eye development in fetuses and breastfed children. The benefits are seen when consuming 200 mg of DHA per day above the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e. 250 mg DHA and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA).
Fish oil, which is the source of DHA in Mamadha Iron, contains the most absorbable natural form of triglycerides.
Iron helps in the proper production of red blood cells and hemoglobin, transport of oxygen in the body and plays an important role in the process of cell division. The iron contained in the product is in the easily digestible form of bisglycinate.
Folates (pteroylmonoglutamic acid and calcium L-methylfolate) promote proper hematopoiesis, take part in the process of cell division and support the functioning of the immune system. Supplemental folic acid increases maternal folate levels. Low maternal folate levels are a risk factor for neural tube defects in the developing fetus. Benefits are seen with 400 mcg of folic acid supplemented daily for a minimum of one month before conception and a maximum of three months after conception.
Iodine helps in the proper production of thyroid hormones and proper functioning of the thyroid gland. It contributes to the proper functioning of the nervous system and the maintenance of proper cognitive functions.
