“Compound
The active ingredient of the drug is furazidin (Furazidinum), also called furaglin.
1 tablet contains furazidine 100 mg.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline silicated cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, sodium carboxymethyl starch type A.
Dosage
Always take this medication exactly as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Usual dose
Adults and teenagers over 15 years of age:
First day of use: 400 mg per day in 4 divided doses (1 tablet every 6 hours); in subsequent days of treatment: 300 mg daily in 3 divided doses (1 tablet every 8 hours).
The tablet can be divided into equal doses.
UroFuragin Max should be taken with food.
At the same time, follow a diet rich in protein.
The medicine should be taken with plenty of liquid.
The drug is usually used for 7-8 days. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 to 8 days, contact your doctor.
Action
The active ingredient uroFuragin Max is furazidin, inhibits the growth of many bacteria that cause urinary tract infections.
Indications
uroFuraginum Max is used to treat lower urinary tract infections.
Contraindications
When should you not use uroFuragin Max:
if you are allergic to furazidin or nitrofuran derivatives or any other ingredients of this medicine,
in the first trimester of pregnancy,
during full-term pregnancy (from the 38th week) and childbirth due to the risk of developing hemolytic anemia (anemia associated with the breakdown of red blood cells) in the newborn;
if you suffer from peripheral neuropathy, such as diabetic,
if you have a deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (a disease associated with a genetically determined deficiency of an enzyme involved in the metabolism of red blood cells),
if the patient has renal failure (oliguria, anuria), and laboratory tests show creatinine clearance below 60 ml/min or an increased level of creatinine in the blood serum.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Among the side effects observed in clinical studies that were likely related to the use of the drug, the most common were:
nausea,
headache,
excessive passage of gas.
