Alterid blocks both the “early” stages of the allergic reaction caused by histamine and the movement of inflammatory cells, eosinophils in particular, as well as releasing agents involved in the “late” stages of the allergic reaction. Adults and children over 12 years of age usually take 1 Alerid-coated tablet (= 10 mg cetirizine) once daily. Children aged 6 to 12 years: half a tablet (5 mg cetirizine) 2 times a day or 1 tablet (10 mg cetirizine) 1 time a day. The tablets are taken in the morning or evening and taken with liquid.
