Indications for use
– Cardiovascular diseases: atherosclerosis of the vessels of the heart and brain, atherosclerosis of peripheral vessels, including with manifestations of intermittent claudication, diabetic angiopathy, coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension, late period after acute myocardial infarction or acute cerebrovascular accident, chronic heart failure , angina pectoris, hypercholesterolemia; – In pulmonology, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, idiopathic pulmonary hypertension, chronic post-embolic pulmonary hypertension; – In obstetrics, preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction; – In hepatology, acute and chronic hepatitis of various etiologies, acute and chronic toxic liver damage (poisoning with mushrooms, alcohol, drugs, chemical agents); – In immunology/oncology as an immunomodulator; – Metabolic disorders hyperammonemia, metabolic alkalosis, hypercholesterolemia; – In endocrinology, stimulation of the release of growth hormone by the pituitary gland, decreased function of the thymus gland, in the complex treatment of type II diabetes mellitus, diabetic angiopathy, as a diagnostic tool for growth disorders; – In neonatology, prevention of necrotizing enterocolitis in premature infants, prevention of retinopathy in prematurity; – Prevention and treatment of hypoxic and ischemic conditions; – Asthenic conditions.
Mode of application
Concentrated solution! The drug is administered intravenously by drip, having previously diluted in 100-200 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution or 5% glucose solution. The maximum infusion rate should not exceed 4 g/hour. The average course of therapy is 5-10 days. The daily dose of the drug for adults is 4-8 g of arginine (20-40 ml). If necessary, the dose of the drug can be increased to 12 g. For newborns and children under 1 year of age, the daily dose of the drug is 200 mg/kg body weight. For children aged 1-12 years, the daily dose of the drug is 100 mg/kg body weight. For diagnostic purposes, in case of growth impairment, adults are administered up to 30 g of the drug, children – 500 mg/kg per day, diluted in 0.9% sodium chloride solution to obtain a 10% solution (9.5 ml of the drug per 10.5 ml of infusion solution) . In conditions of severe metabolic alkalosis, the dose of arginine hydrochloride is calculated using the following formula: drug dose (ml) = IS (excess alkali mmol/l) x patient body weight (kg) x 0.3. For the treatment of severe hyperammonemia, the recommended loading dose of arginine hydrochloride is 600 mg/kg over 90 minutes.”
