Ingredients
The medicinal substances are magnesium hydrogen aspartate ( Magnesia hydroaspartas ) and potassium hydrogen aspartate ( Kalii hydroaspartas ).
1 tablet contains:
250 mg magnesium hydrogen aspartate – 17 mg magnesium ions
250 mg
Potassium hydrogenaspartate – 54 mg potassium ions Excipients : potato starch, sucrose, ultraamylopectin, magnesium stearate, talc.
dosage
Use this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. If you are not sure, ask your doctor.
Usual dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years:
1 to 2 tablets orally 2 to 3 times a day.
Take the medicine after a meal with water.
action
The drug supplies magnesium and potassium ions, thereby balancing the deficiencies of these elements in the body.
Magnesium is an activator of many enzymes, it mediates the production and transport of energy in the body. It is important for the functioning of the heart muscle, nervous system, vascular smooth muscles and striated muscles.
Potassium is involved in the activity of the nervous system, cardiovascular system and neuromuscular conduction.
Indication
The drug asparagine is used to correct magnesium and potassium:
• if you have heart problems caused by magnesium and potassium deficiency,
• prophylactic for ischemic heart disease and with the risk of myocardial infarction,
• supportive for patients after a heart attack (during recovery),
• after an infectious disease or surgery that led to a decrease in the concentration of magnesium and potassium,
• with long-term use of cardiac glycosides and diuretics (e.g. thiazides, furosemide).
Contraindication
Do not take asparagine:
• Hypersensitivity to medicinal substances or to any other component of the medicine,
• excess magnesium or potassium in the blood
• severe kidney failure,
• urinary tract infection,
• Heart problems (feeling too slow, fast or uneven)
• severe hypotension.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Uncommon side effects (affect less than 1 in 100 treated patients):
• Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, which usually go away on their own.
Rare side effects (affect 1 to 10 patients out of 10,000 treated):
• heart problems,
• Muscle weakness
• Redness of the skin.
Very rare side effects (affecting less than 1 in 10,000 treated patients):
• Insomnia.
Warnings and precautions
• The drug should be used with caution in people treated with nascer glycosides or other potassium-containing drugs.
• The drug contains sugar.
• Store below 25°C.
• Store in the original packaging to protect the product from moisture.
Taking other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking, have recently taken, and any medicines you plan to take.
The drug asparagine should not interact with the following agents :
• Antibiotics from the tetracycline group, as magnesium salts reduce the absorption of these antibiotics,
• oral coumarin anticoagulants,
• Fluoroquinolone,
• Medicines and food supplements that contain phosphates, calcium and iron, as magnesium reduces their absorption,
• Digitalis glycosides (heart medicine) used in combination with potassium can cause abnormal heart rhythms.
• Diuretics (amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene) and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (medicines used to treat cardiovascular disease, eg captopril and enalapril) increase potassium levels in the blood.
Taking the drug with food and drink
The medicine should be taken with water after a meal. Magnesium intake is reduced in the presence of phosphates, calcium, lipids and phytates in the diet.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you suspect that you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor before taking any medicine.
Drug use in children and adolescents
Do not use in children under 12 years of age.
