Carbocisteine Viatris 2% Children’s syrup without sugar, oral solution sweetened with liquid maltitol and sorbitol is a medicine that thins bronchial secretions, indicated for expectoration of mucus by coughing.
This syrup is indicated to treat bronchial secretion disorders, when the bronchi are congested, particularly during acute bronchitis or acute episodes of chronic bronchopneumopathies.
Its active substance is Carbocisteine, at a rate of 2.00 g per 100 ml.
The other ingredients are methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), cochineal red A (E124), liquid maltitol, sorbitol, strawberry flavor (which includes propylene glycol), sodium hydroxide and purified water.
This syrup does not contain sugar and is therefore suitable for people on a low-carbohydrate or low-calorie diet.
One dose corresponds to the 5 ml graduation of the oral administration syringe corresponding to 100 mg of carbocisteine.
