LabHome CRP Screen allows you to detect elevated CRP levels in the blood, which helps determine the cause of the infection. Colds, flu and most respiratory infections are caused by viruses that are ineffective against antibiotics. Before you use an antibiotic, check the level of CRP protein in your blood.

Indications
The only semi-quantitative test available to both patients and professionals – allowing to determine the range of CRP protein concentrations in the following ranges:
1) below 8 mg/L
2) from 8 to 40 mg/L
3) from 40 to 100 mg/L
4) above 100 mg/L
The concentration range of the CRP-Screen test (8-100mg/L) is the same as in professional semi-quantitative CRP tests and is consistent with generally applicable medical recommendations.
What is the purpose of the test?
– Avoiding unnecessary antibiotic therapy – the CRP level is a diagnostic indicator that helps differentiate the cause of a viral infection from a bacterial one. Antibiotics only work on bacteria!
– Detection of inflammation – often diseases and disorders of the intestines and digestive system, development of bacterial infection after surgical and dental procedures
– Increased risk of developing atherosclerosis – in people with lipid metabolism disorders and cardiovascular diseases, high CRP may indicate the development of atherosclerosis.
