The active substance is dexpanthenol.
1 g of ointment contains 50 mg of dexpanthenol.
Excipients: white petroleum jelly, white wax, liquid paraffin, polysorbate 80, marigolds flavor improving substance Y66, purified water.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, the usual dosage of Dermopanten is
- in the treatment of superficial wounds, the drug should be applied once or several times a day, depending on the local condition.
- in the care of the nipples of breastfeeding women, a compress made of ointment should be applied to the nipples. The nipples should be washed before each breastfeeding.
- in the care of infants, the drug should be applied each time the diaper is changed, after washing the places exposed to chafing with water.
Action
After topical application to the skin, dexpanthenol is metabolized to pantothenic acid, which is a component of coenzyme A, necessary for the proper functioning of the epithelium and skin, and affects skin regeneration.
Indications
Dermopantene is used in:
- treatment of superficial wounds, such as abrasions, cuts, skin cracks, burns, skin irritations (e.g. after excessive sun exposure, radiotherapy, quartz lamp irradiation), minor dermatitis, ulcerations.
- treatment of dry skin.
- nipple care during breastfeeding, preventing and treating nipple abrasions and irritation.
- infant care – preventing and treating chafes and skin inflammations.
Contraindications
Do not use Dermopanten
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- for large, deep and clearly infected wounds. In such cases, please contact your doctor.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Local allergic reactions may occur during the use of the drug.
Warnings and Precautions
Avoid contact of the drug with the eyes.
Store below 25 ° C.
Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
