Indications for use:
Short-term relief of pain of moderate and severe intensity of various origins (including pain in the postoperative period, with cancer). The drug is not indicated for the treatment of chronic pain syndromes.
Directions for use and dosage:
The drug is administered in the form of intramuscular, intravenous injections and continuous infusion.
The duration of infusion should not exceed 24 hours.
The drug must be administered intravenously over at least 15 seconds. Intramuscular injection is carried out slowly, deep into the muscle. 20-30 minutes, and maximum pain relief occurs after 1-2 hours. The duration of the analgesic effect is usually 4-6 hours.
Single administration
Intramuscular:
Patients under the age of 65 years: 10-60 mg once, depending on the severity of the pain syndrome.
Patients aged 65 years and older or with impaired renal function or patients weighing less than 50 kg 10-30 mg once.
Intravenously:
Patients under the age of 65 years – 10-30 mg once, depending on the severity of the pain syndrome.
Patients aged 65 years and older or with impaired renal function or patients weighing less than 50 kg 10-15 mg once.
Multiple administration
Intramuscular:
Patients under 65 years of age
10-30 mg every 4-6 hours depending on the severity of the pain syndrome.
Patients aged 65 years and older or with impaired renal function or patients weighing less than 50 kg: 10-15 mg g every 4-6 hours depending on the severity of the pain syndrome.
Intravenously:
Patients under the age of 65 years – 10-30 mg every 6 hours, depending on the severity of the pain syndrome.
Patients aged 65 years and older or with impaired renal function or patients weighing less than 50 kg: 10-15 mg every 6 hours.
The maximum daily dose for patients under 65 years of age is 90 mg, for patients aged 65 years and older or with impaired renal function or patients weighing less than 50 kg – 60 mg.
Continuous intravenous infusion:
The initial dose is 30 mg intravenously as a bolus, then as a continuous infusion at a rate of up to 5 mg/hour for no more than 24 hours (maximum daily dose 90 mg).
When switching from parenteral administration of the drug to oral administration, the total daily dose of both dosage forms on the day of transfer for patients under 65 years of age should not exceed 90 mg, for patients aged 65 years and older or with impaired renal function or patients weighing less than 50 kg 60 mg. In this case, the dose of the drug for oral administration on the day of transition should not exceed 30-40 mg.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to ketorolac or other NSAIDs;
“aspirin triad” (combination of bronchial asthma C
polypous rhinosinusitis and intolerance
non-steroidal
anti-inflammatory drugs);
bronchospasm;
angioedema;
hypovolemia (regardless of the cause that caused it);
dehydration;
peptic ulcer, bleeding, gastrointestinal perforation (in the acute phase and in history);
severe heart failure;
hypocoagulation (including hemophilia);
liver and/or renal failure (plasma creatinine above 50 mg/l);
hemorrhagic stroke (confirmed or suspected);
hemorrhagic diathesis;”
