Each Gabapentin 300 mg capsule contains:
Active ingredient: gabapentin 300 mg.
Auxiliary ingredients: lactose monohydrate, ethylcellulose.
Indications:
Epilepsy.
adults and children over 12 years of age as monotherapy for the treatment of partial (focal) epileptic seizures, including with or without secondary generalized seizures;
adults and children aged 2–12 years as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial (focal) epileptic seizures, including with or without secondary generalized seizures;
Peripheral neuropathic pain in adults (painful diabetic and postherpetic neuralgia).
Dosage and methods of application
Take orally, without chewing and with a sufficient amount of liquid, regardless of meals.
Epilepsy
Adults and children over 12 years old. The typical effective dose is 900-1200 mg/day. Maximum dose: 3600 mg/day (3 equal doses of avamamab). The maximum duration of administration should not exceed 12 hours. The desired level of the drug in the blood can be achieved several days after taking the drug using the recommended route of administration.
A. First day: 300 mg (300 mg 1 capsule once a day).
On the second day: 600 mg (300 mg 1 capsule twice a day).
On the third day: 900 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule three times a day).
B. On the first day, you can prescribe 300 mg, 1 capsule 3 times a day, i.e. 900 mg/day.
Depending on the effect obtained, the dose can be increased by 300 mg every 2-3 days, with a maximum daily dose of 3600 mg.
Treatment of children aged 6-12 years
On the first day: 10 mg/kg. The maximum daily dosage is 300 mg (300 mg 1 capsule once a day).
On the second day: 10 mg/kg. The maximum daily dosage is 600 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule twice a day).
On the third day: 10 mg/kg. The maximum daily dose is 900 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule three times a day).
The recommended effective dose is 25–35 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses. The maximum daily dose is 70 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses.
Treatment of children aged 2-6 years
On the first day: 10 mg/kg. The maximum daily dosage is 300 mg (300 mg 1 capsule once a day).
On the second day: 10 mg/kg. The maximum daily dosage is 600 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule twice a day).
On the third day: 10 mg/kg. The maximum daily dosage is 900 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule three times a day).
Depending on the effect obtained, the dose should be increased to 30–70 mg/kg/day in 3 divided doses.
Treatment of neuropathic pain in adults
Taking into account the effect obtained and the tolerability of the drug, the doctor prescribes a therapeutic dosage using the titration method. Depending on the patient’s individual response, the maximum dosage can reach 3600 mg/day.
Recommended dosages for prescribing the drug are:
A. 300 mg on the first day (300 mg 1 capsule 1 time per day).
On the second day, 600 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule twice a day).
On the third day, 900 mg (300 mg, 1 capsule three times a day).
B. For very severe pain on the first day, you can take 1 capsule 300 mg 3 times a day, that is, 900 mg/day. Then during the first week the dosage can be increased to 1800 mg.
In some cases, further increases in the dose may be required. The maximum daily dose is 3600 mg in 3 divided doses.
