“Compound
The active ingredient of the drug is drotaverine hydrochloride.
1 tablet contains 80 mg of drotaverine hydrochloride.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized corn starch, povidone K 30, magnesium stearate.
Dosage
The drug is administered orally.
The recommended dose is:
Adults: daily dose is 120–240 mg in 2–3 divided doses. The maximum daily dose is 240 mg of drotaverine (3 tablets).
Children over 12 years of age: the daily dose is 160 mg in 2–4 divided doses. The maximum daily dose is 160 mg.
Without consulting a doctor, the medicine can be used for a maximum of 7 days.
Action
Drotaverine is used for spasms of smooth muscles of nervous and muscular origin, which often manifests itself as pain in the abdominal cavity. The antispasmodic effect of drotaverine does not depend on the type of innervation and location of smooth muscles (digestive tract, genitourinary system, circulatory system and biliary tract).
Indications
Spastin Max is used:
spasms of smooth muscles associated with diseases of the biliary tract: cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, pericystitis, cholangitis, inflammation of the ampulla of Vater;
spasmodic conditions of the smooth muscles of the urinary tract: stones in the kidneys, ureters, inflammation of the renal pelvis, cystitis, painful urge to urinate;
and in support:
for spasms of smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, enteritis, colitis, spasms of the cardia and pylorus, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic constipation and intestinal flatulence, pancreatitis;
for gynecological diseases: painful menstruation.
Contraindications
Do not use the medicine:
if you are allergic to drotaverine or any other component of the drug,
if you suffer from severe liver, kidney or heart failure,
if you have 2-3 degree atrioventricular block,
in children under 12 years of age.”
