“Scopolan tablets (pack: 30 pcs.) contain hyoscine butyl bromide, which has a relaxing effect on the smooth muscles of the abdominal cavity and relieves pain in the digestive tract, biliary tract and genitourinary system.
Compound
The active ingredient of the drug is hyoscine butyl bromide – 10 mg. Excipients: potato starch, lactose monohydrate, gum arabic, sucrose, talc, magnesium stearate.
Precautionary measures
Hypersensitivity reactions to the drug may occur and use should be discontinued immediately. If you are known to be allergic to the active substance or any other ingredient of the medicinal product, it should not be used.
The drug should not be used if the patient:
– allergy to tropane alkaloids (for example, atropine) and their derivatives,
– narrow-angle glaucoma (eye disease with increased intraocular pressure),
– prostatic hyperplasia (prostate gland). ,
– atonic constipation,
– paralytic intestinal obstruction (stopping the process of movement of intestinal contents),
– narrowing of the esophagus, cardia or pylorus,
– narrowing of the bladder neck,
– tachycardia (heart rhythm disturbances with increased heart rate). ),
– muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis) (a disease with impaired function and significant muscle weakness),
– pathological expansion of the colon (megacolon).
This medication should be taken only temporarily (if symptoms occur) and as recommended. When a patient has abdominal pain suddenly and the cause is unknown, and at the same time there are: fever, nausea, vomiting, changes in bowel habits (for example, diarrhea), pain when touching the abdomen, low blood pressure, fainting, or the presence of blood in the stool the patient should not take the drug without consulting a doctor. The use of the drug should be discussed with your doctor if you suffer from:
– gastroesophageal reflux disease (regurgitation of stomach contents into the esophagus),
– ulcerative enteritis,

– antihistamines (antiallergic drugs), for example dimenhydrinate, clemastine,
– amantadine (a drug used to treat Parkinson’s disease),
– pethidine (a drug used to treat severe and long-lasting pain),
– disopyramide (an antiarrhythmic drug used to treat irregular heartbeats),
– other anticholinergic drugs such as ipratropium or tiotropium (medicines used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) or other drugs like atropine,
– medicines that block dopamine receptors, such as metoclopramide (a medicine used to treat stomach problems),
– beta-adrenergic drugs (used to treat shortness of breath and asthma).
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
There are no clinical studies confirming the safety of hyoscine butylbromide during pregnancy. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor thinks it is absolutely necessary.
