Active ingredient and composition
Dolormin® GS tablets contain 250 mg of the active substance naproxen.
Other ingredients of Dolormin® GS:
lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch (corn), povidone (K 30), sodium croscarmellose, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), purified water.
Areas of application
This is an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic drug (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug/analgesic).
It is taken to treat mild to moderate pain associated with known osteoarthritis (wear and tear of the joints).
Naproxen is characterized by a long duration of action – up to 12 hours. Just one dose of Dolormin® GS provides a more active day or a more restful night.
Dosage
Adults and young adults aged 12 years and over – usually:
First dose:
1–2 tablets (equivalent to 250–500 mg naproxen)
Subsequent dose:
1 tablet (equivalent to 250 mg naproxen)
Maximum total daily dose:
up to 3 tablets (equivalent to 750 mg naproxen)
Adults and young adults aged 12 years and over. If you have osteoarthritis:
First dose:
2 tablets (equivalent to 500 mg naproxen)
Subsequent dose:
1(-2) tablets (equivalent to 250–500 mg naproxen)
Maximum total daily dose:
up to 3 tablets (equivalent to 750 mg naproxen)
The pain of osteoarthritis may vary throughout the day. The dosage can be adjusted accordingly:
Pain occurs:
without daily variations
Take in the morning: 1 tablet (250 mg naproxen)
Take in the evening: 1 tablet (250 mg naproxen)
Daily dose: 500 mg naproxen
Stronger at night:
Take in the morning: 1 tablet (250 mg naproxen)
Take in the evening: 2 tablets (500 mg naproxen)
Daily dose: 750 mg naproxen
Stronger during the day:
Take in the morning: 2 tablets (500 mg naproxen)
Take in the evening: 1 tablet (250 mg naproxen)
Daily dose: 750 mg naproxen
In patients with impaired liver or kidney function, the daily dose should not exceed two tablets, divided into two single doses.
Dolormin GS should not be taken without consulting a doctor for more than 4 days, and in the presence of osteoarthritis – no longer than 5 (-7) days.
Contraindications
The drug should not be taken
if you are allergic to naproxen or any other ingredient of this drug,
when joint problems first appear or are accompanied by swelling. In this case, you should consult a doctor,
if you have had asthma attacks, nasal congestion or skin reactions in the past when taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,
in case of unexplained blood disorders,
if you have or have had stomach/intestinal ulcers (peptic ulcers) or bleeding,
if you have a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation due to previous treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs),
in case of bleeding in the brain (cerebrovascular haemorrhage) or other active bleeding,
if you suffer from severe liver or kidney dysfunction,
in case of severe heart failure (heart failure),
in the last three months of pregnancy,
in children under 12 years of age, as this dosage is usually not suitable due to the active ingredient content.”
