Intended use:
Juvit Multi is used to prevent and treat vitamin deficiencies in infants and children:
- in states of increased demand (period of intensive growth, increased physical exertion, diseases with increased temperature),
- with insufficient supply of vitamins in food (elimination diets, states of malnutrition, early spring period),
- in reduced general resistance to infectious diseases,
- during the recovery period, especially after treatment with antibiotics.
- Economy of use – the same drops with vitamins for siblings of different ages to be used from the first day of life.
- Convenient and safe administration with a dropper.
- Pleasant orange flavor.
Juvit Multi contains basic vitamins for children and babies that are essential for the development and functions of the human body.
- Vitamin Aplays an essential role in the vision process. It is also essential for the growth, development and function of the skin epithelium and mucosa.
- Vitamins C and Einfluence the activity of the circulatory, nervous and muscular systems as well as the development of cartilage, bones and teeth.
- Vitamin Dregulates the metabolism of the main bone mineral components – calcium and phosphate.
- Vitamins B and PPare involved in various cellular transformations, and their deficiency causes growth disorders, twilight vision and central nervous system function disorders, as well as lesions in the oral cavity and skin.
What does Juvit Multi contain?
1 ml of Juvit Multi drops contains the following active substances:
- retinol palmitate (vitamin A) 5000 IU
- cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) 1000 IU
- all-rac-α-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E) 4.0 mg
- thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1) 2.0 mg
- riboflavin sodium phosphate (vitamin B2) 0.8 mg
- pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) 4.0 mg
- nicotinamide (vitamin PP) 30.0 mg
- dexpanthenol 10.0 mg
- ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 0 mg.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: sodium hydroxide, RRR-α-tocopherol, butylhydroxyanisole, citric acid monohydrate, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium saccharin, macrogolglycerol hydroxystearate, glycerol, orange flavor, purified water.
Juvit Multi – dosage:
The drug should be taken orally.
Unless a specific dosage has been prescribed, the usual administration is:
- infants: 3-5 drops a day,
- children from 1 to 6 years of age: 6 to 7 drops a day,
- children from 7 to 14 years of age: 8 to 9 drops a day.
Contraindications / When not to use Juvit Multi?
- If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- When there is an excess of vitamin A in the body (hypervitaminosis A).
- If you have high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia).
Warnings and Precautions:
In the case of nephrolithiasis (now or in the past) and in the case of sarcoidosis, the use of the drug is possible only in consultation with the doctor and in accordance with his recommendations.
The simultaneous use with other drugs containing vitamin A and / or D should take place only on the recommendation of a doctor and in accordance with the dosage established by him.
Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Juvit Multi.
Simultaneous administration of cholestyramine, paraffin oil, colestipol (drugs that reduce the absorption of fats and cholesterol) reduces the absorption of vitamins A, D and E.
Absorption of vitamin A is reduced during administration of neomycin, and absorption of vitamin D in patients taking anticonvulsants and barbiturates (used, for example, in epilepsy).
Concomitant use of iron preparations weakens the effect of vitamin E, so you should leave a few hours between taking Juvit Multi and iron preparations.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Juvit Multi.
The drug can be used during pregnancy only according to the recommendation and in accordance with the dosage established by the doctor.
Juvit Multi has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Juvit Multi – side effects:
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
No side effects were observed at the recommended doses. Too high doses may cause symptoms of overdose. These include mild gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, diarrhea). After long-term administration of too high doses, symptoms of hypervitaminosis A and D and hypercalcaemia (increased levels of calcium in the blood) may occur.
Storage / Shelf Life:
- Juvit Multi should be stored in a refrigerator (2 °C – 8 ° C).
- Store in the original package in order to protect from light.
- Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
