Mode of action
NIKORETTE® chewing gum freely delivers nicotine when chewing, which is absorbed through the oral mucosa. Of the total amount of nicotine in chewing gum, about 50% is absorbed by the body. Accordingly, the user takes one of the 2 mg chewing gum, approximately 1 mg of nicotine, and chewing gum 4 mg, approximately 2 mg. Nicotine in the blood is achieved when chewing one 2 mg chewing gum, approximately 1/3 or chewing gum 4 mg about 2/3 of the values that would be obtained when smoking cigarettes.
Dosage and administration
Adults chew gum 8 to 12 times a day. A maximum of 16 chewing gums can be used per day. During treatment, it may make sense to reduce the dose.
Duration of therapy:
3 months, then gradually reduce. If you have not managed to get rid of nicotine addiction after 9 months, you should seek advice from a doctor.
Contraindications
Nicorette 2 mg Freshfruit chewing gum is not suitable for use in the presence of hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients. The product is also not suitable for occasional smokers and non-smokers.”
