- Strep A test (throat swab for streptococci), for self-testing.
A rapid streptococcal test is a diagnostic method also used by doctors to quickly identify bacteria in the throat. The Strep A test allows you to obtain a result at the level of a laboratory test in real time (10 minutes) at home. A positive test result means that antigens of the S. pyogenes bacteria were detected in the throat swab sample and the infection is of bacterial origin – consultation with a doctor is recommended. On the other hand, a negative result indicates a sore throat of viral origin.
- Check if it is not tonsillitis if:
- symptoms of a throat infection appeared suddenly
severe sore throat, difficulty swallowing
white coating on tonsils
infection is accompanied by fever
no additional symptoms of a viral infection (runny nose, cough)
swollen lymph nodes
general weakness, possible vomiting, abdominal pain - HOW TO USE:
The test is performed from a swab taken from the throat and tonsils using a cotton-tipped swab. Collecting the material for testing is non-invasive and painless, which is why it is also used in children.
The sample taken with the swab is transferred to a test tube to which extraction fluids (1 and 2) are added. After incubation, the swab can be removed. The test strip is immersed in the fluid remaining in the test tube. After 10 minutes, the result can be read. The STREP A’LERT test provides a comfortable test and fast, reliable diagnostics<b/>
