“The drug is used for dry, persistent cough without expectoration.
Composition
The active ingredients of the drug are: codeine phosphate hemihydrate (Codeini phosphas hemihidricus) and sulfoguaiacol (Sulfogaiacolum).
1 tablet contains 15 mg of codeine phosphate hemihydrate and 300 mg of sulfoguaiacol.
Excipients: talc, potato starch, magnesium stearate.
Dosage
The drug is taken orally, washing down the entire tablet with a glass of water during meals. During treatment, you should drink at least 2 liters of fluid per day, which will facilitate expectoration of mucus from the respiratory tract. The drug can be used for a maximum of 3 days without consulting a doctor.
Thiocodine is not recommended for use in adolescents aged 12 to 18 years with respiratory diseases for the treatment of cough.
Recommended dosage
Thiocodine for adults and adolescents over 12 years old – 1 tablet 3 times a day, but with a break of at least 4-6 hours.
Action
Thiocodine cough tablets contain two active substances with complementary effects. Codeine suppresses the cough reflex, reducing the frequency of coughing attacks. Sulfaguaiacol has an expectorant effect, facilitating the movement of liquefied secretions through the respiratory tract and its expectoration.
Indications
Thiocodine is intended for the treatment of dry, persistent cough without expectoration of secretions.
Contraindications
Contraindications to the use of the drug are hypersensitivity to codeine, sulfaguaiacol or any of the ingredients. Thiocodine should not be used by people with: bronchial asthma, respiratory failure, coma, cystic fibrosis, dilated bronchi, alcohol or opioid dependence, very rapid metabolism of codeine into morphine, wet cough.”
