VoltarenSpé 1%, gel is a medication in gel form, with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties (which calms pain). Composed of diclofenac, this medication is intended for adults (from the age of 15) for a short period in: local adjunctive treatment of pain of muscular and tendon-ligament origin, local treatment of benign trauma such as sprains and bruises, but also symptomatic treatment of painful outbreaks of osteoarthritis after at least medical advice. Its cap is practical in case of osteoarthritis of the hands for easier opening.
Its active substance is diethylamine diclofenac, dosed at 1.16 g (quantity corresponding to diclofenac sodium: 1.00 g) per 100 g of gel.
The other components that enter into its formula are as follows: diethylamine, carbomer (carbopol 974 P), ketomacrogol 1000, ester of caprylic and capric acids with fatty alcohol from C12 to C18 (CETIOL LC), isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, perfume cream 45, propylene glycol, purified water.
The excipient with a notable effect is propylene glycol.
