The drug Clarix Expectorant Carbocisteine 5% Adults without sugar, is a syrup indicated for adults and children over 15 years old, in case of productive cough . Therefore during a recent respiratory condition with difficulty in coughing up bronchial secretions.
This syrup comes in the form of a 250 ml bottle.
The active ingredient is carbocisteine dosed at 5 g per 100 ml of syrup. The other compounds are: sodium saccharin, hydroxyethylcellulose, sodium hydroxide, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), caramel flavor, and purified water.
The excipients with known effects are sodium (33.3 mg per spoonful), and methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) which is allergenic.
