Gilbert paraffin oil is a lubricating laxative medication in oral suspension, indicated for occasional constipation , with action 6 to 8 hours after taking.

Dosage of Gilbert paraffin oil
In adults, the dosage is 1 to 3 tablespoons per day. Medical advice is required for use in children over 6 years old: 1 to 3 teaspoons per day.
Paraffin oil should be taken outside of meals and if taken in the evening, avoid going to bed for the next 2 hours. The effect of the oil may occur during the night.
If you do not follow the usual dosage, you risk having diarrhea, anal oozing and perianal irritation.
