Action
Vitamin D is needed for proper growth and development of bones in children. Vitamin D is necessary for the proper development of the body – it affects the absorption of calcium and maintains its proper concentration in the blood. Vitamin D is synthesized naturally in the skin under the influence of sunlight and supplied with breast milk. Given the limited access to sunlight, additional supplementation is recommended. An additional amount of vitamin D in a daily dose of 10 µg, equivalent to 400 IU, should be given to the child throughout breastfeeding.
Dosage
It is recommended to administer the contents of one “”twist-off”” capsule daily. Daily dosage may be modified as directed by your doctor. To open the capsule, twist and tear off the tip, and then squeeze the contents into a previously prepared portion of breast milk or directly into the baby’s mouth. Be careful not to drop the capsule into the child’s mouth (possibility of choking) and press the capsule gently to avoid sudden splashing of the liquid. The contents of the capsule should be used immediately after opening.
Contraindications
The product is not intended for parenteral use. It cannot be used as the only source of food.
