Novofine cannulas have been developed for use with Novo Nordisk’s injection aids. These cannulas are sanded, polished and silicone-coated. This enables them to be gentle injection. Novofine 6 mm and 8 mm cannulas can be used with any injection aid from Novo Nordisk. The innovo is not suitable for the use of 12 mm cannulas; These would bend if the protective cap of the innovo is closed when the needle is remained on the device. Injection technology notes: With Novofine 6 mm, the skin folding is generally eliminated. We recommend injecting the insulin slowly, otherwise there may be additional pain during the injection due to the pressure formation in the tissue. After the injection, the cannula should remain in the tissue for at least 6, better for 10 seconds in order to achieve pressure equalization. Without this compensation, the insulin can flow back to the skin surface and thus miss its effect.
