“Compound:
1 sachet contains: paracetamol 500 mg, guaifenesin 200 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg.
Excipients with known effects:
sucrose 2077 mg, aspartame (E 951) 12 mg, sodium citrate 500 mg (contains 117.3 mg sodium), sodium cyclamate (E 952) 100 mg (contains 11.5 mg sodium).
Indications and action:
Provides short-term and immediate relief of symptoms associated with colds and flu such as pain, headache, rhinitis, sore throat, chills and fever, as well as relief from expectoration of a productive cough.
Dosage:
Adults, elderly patients and children aged 12 years and older: 1 sachet every 4 hours as needed.
Do not use more than 4 sachets (4 doses) per day.
If you do not feel better or feel worse after 5 days, contact your doctor.
This medicine should not be given to children under 12 years of age.
Pour the contents of 1 sachet into a standard cup. Fill a cup with 250 ml of hot, but not boiling, water. Stir until dissolved and allow to reach drinking temperature. Drink the solution within one and a half hours.
Contraindications:
• Hypersensitivity to paracetamol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine hydrochloride or any of the excipients.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Liver problems or serious kidney problems.
• Heart disease and cardiovascular disease, including severe hemolytic anemia.
• Hypertension.
• Hyperthyroidism.
• Diabetes.
• Pheochromocytoma.
• Use in patients taking tricyclic antidepressants.
• Use in patients currently taking other medications containing paracetamol.
• Angle-closure glaucoma.
• Use in patients taking beta blockers.
• The drug is contraindicated in patients currently taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors or in the past 2 weeks.
• Use in patients with glaucoma or urinary retention.
• Use in patients currently taking other sympathomimetics (such as vasoconstrictors, appetite suppressants, and amphetamine-like psychostimulants).”
