Compound
Active ingredient: nicotine.
1 lozenge contains 4 mg of nicotine.
Excipients: aspartame (E 451), mannitol (E 421), sodium alginate, xanthan gum, potassium bicarbonate, calcium polyacrylate copolymer with divinyl glycol, anhydrous sodium carbonate, magnesium stearate, mint flavor 57581.
Dosage
Place one lozenge in your mouth and move it from one side of your mouth to the other from time to time until it is completely dissolved. The tablets should not be chewed or swallowed whole.
During treatment, the following dosage schedule should be followed:
from 1 to 6 weeks – 1 lozenge every 1–2 hours, at least 9, but not more than 15 lozenges per day,
from 7 to 9 weeks – 1 lozenge every 2–4 hours;
from 10 to 12 weeks – 1 lozenge every 4–8 hours;
To be able to abstain from smoking for the next 12 weeks: Take 1 or two lozenges per day only when you have a strong urge to smoke a cigarette.
Action
NiQuitin works by releasing and absorbing therapeutic nicotine from the lozenge as it is dissolved within 20 to 30 minutes. The drug helps relieve withdrawal symptoms that occur when quitting smoking and are associated with cravings for nicotine.
Indications
The drug is used to relieve symptoms associated with nicotine withdrawal, including nicotine cravings associated with quitting smoking. At the same time, it is recommended to use a smoking cessation program.
Niquitin 4 mg tablets are intended for people who smoke their first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking up.
Contraindications
Do not use Niquitin:
if you are allergic (hypersensitivity) to nicotine or any component of the drug;
if you have recently had a heart attack or ischemic stroke;
if you suffer from unstable and worsening angina, Prinzmetal’s angina, severe heart rhythm disturbances;
if you suffer from phenylketonuria;
The drug should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
The medicine should not be used by non-smokers, children and adolescents under 18 years of age.”
