The medicine AdvilMed children and infants oral suspension 20 mg/1 ml contains ibuprofen: an anti-inflammatory molecule from the NSAID family. It helps relieve pain and reduce fever .
AdvilMed oral suspension can be used in infants from 3 months and children up to 12 years (approximately 40 kg). Beyond that, there are other more suitable forms.
This analgesic medicine is recommended for treating fever and/or pain such as headaches, flu, toothache, and body aches.
Dosage of Advil Med syrup for children and infants
The recommended dosage of Advil Med children and infants oral suspension 20 mg/1 ml is 20 to 30 mg/kg/day in 3 to 4 doses without exceeding 30 mg/kg/day and will be spaced at least 6 hours apart.
Advil Med children and infants is administered to the child or infant using the pipette provided with the bottle.
This is graduated in kg. It delivers a dose of 7.5 mg/kg per dose. Simply pull the plunger to the graduation corresponding to the child’s weight.
If your child weighs more than 25 kilos, the administration should be done in 2 stages: a first pipette of 25 kg then a second to complete up to the child’s weight. For example, if your child weighs 30 kilos, you will give 25 kilos + 5 kilos.
The recommended treatment duration is 3 days in case of fever and 5 days in case of pain. If you do not see any improvement or if your child’s condition worsens, you should consult your doctor.
