Scope
The medicine is used to reduce the risk of blood clots and prevent the following diseases:
acute cardiovascular disease
iron
Cardiovascular disorders in patients with stable or unstable angina (chest pain).
It is also used to prevent blood clots after certain types of heart surgery to widen or keep blood vessels open.
This medicine is not suitable for emergency situations. It can only be taken for prevention.
Dosage
Adult
To prevent a heart attack:
The recommended dose is 75–150 mg once a day.
To prevent stroke:
The recommended dose is 75–300 mg once daily.
To prevent cardiovascular events in patients with stable or unstable angina (chest pain):
The recommended dose is 75–150 mg once daily.
To prevent blood clots after certain types of heart surgery:
The recommended dose is 75–150 mg once daily.
Enteric-coated tablets should not be used in higher doses without consulting a doctor, with a maximum dose of 300 mg daily.
Elderly patients
Use as for adults. In general, acetylsalicylic acid should be used with caution in elderly patients, who are more susceptible to side effects. Treatment should be reviewed at regular intervals.
Children and young adults
Acetylsalicylic acid should not be used in children and adolescents under 16 years of age without a doctor’s prescription.
Contraindications
You should not take this medicine
if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid or any of the other ingredients in the medicine;
if you are allergic to other salicylates or non-al anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs are often used to treat arthritis (joint inflammation) or rheumatism and pain;
if you have asthma attacks or swelling of certain parts of the body, such as after taking salicylates or NSAIDs. B. have had a reaction in your face, lips, throat or tongue (angioedema);
if you currently have or have had a stomach or small intestinal ulcer, or have had or have had any other type of bleeding, such as a stroke;
if you have a bleeding disorder;
if you have severe liver or kidney problems;
if you have severe heart disease, possibly associated with shortness of breath or swelling of the ankles;
in the last 3 months of pregnancy at a dose of more than 100 mg per day;
if you take a medicine called methotrexate (used, for example, for cancer or rheumatoid arthritis) at a dose of more than 15 mg per week.”
