Indication:
The medicine contains the active ingredient pantoprazole, which blocks the pump that produces stomach acid. As a result, the amount of acid in the stomach decreases.
It is used for short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (eg, heartburn, acid reflux) in adults. Reflux is the backflow of stomach acid into the food pipe, which can cause painful inflammation. This can cause symptoms such as a painful burning sensation in the chest that goes up to the throat (heartburn) and a sour taste in the mouth (acid reflux).
Your reflux and heartburn symptoms may improve after just one day of treatment with this medicine, but this medicine does not necessarily provide immediate relief. It may take 2-3 days of tablets in a row to relieve your symptoms.
If you do not feel better or feel worse after 2 weeks, contact your doctor.
Dosage:
Always take this medicine exactly as described or directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is one tablet daily. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of pantoprazole 20 mg.
Take this medicine for at least 2-3 days in a row. Stop taking the medicine when your symptoms completely disappear. Symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn may improve after just one day of taking the product, but this medicine does not necessarily provide immediate relief.
Duration of use:
If you do not notice an improvement in your symptoms after 2 weeks of continuous use of this medicine, consult a doctor.
Do not take the medicine for more than 4 weeks without consulting a doctor.
Method:
Take the tablet at the same time every day before meals. Swallow the tablet whole with a small amount of water. Do not bite or break the tablet.
Contraindications:
Do not take the medicine:
if you are allergic to pantoprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
if you are allergic to medicines containing other proton pump inhibitors (eg, omeprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole, esomeprazole).
if you are taking HIV protease inhibitors such as atazanavir or nelfinavir (used to treat HIV infection).”
