Areas of application: Treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency caused by malnutrition, treatment (maintenance therapy) of vitamin B12 deficiency, e.g. as a result of impaired absorption of vitamin B12, long-term treatment of pernicious anemia induced by vitamin B12 deficiency after blood values have normalized. Treatment of pernicious anemia or neurological symptoms is initially parenteral until blood values have normalized. B12 Ankermann® is used in adults.
