Active ingredient: dextromethorphan (Dextromethorphani Hydrobromidum).
One film-coated tablet contains 15 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromidum (Dextromethorphani Hydrobromidum).
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, magnesium stearate. Shell composition: hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol.
Dosage
Medicine for oral administration.
Adolescents over 12 years of age and adults: 2 tablets every 6-8 hours. The maximum daily dose is 8 tablets, i.e. 120 mg dextromethorphan.
Use of the drug in the age group of 6-12 years only on the recommendation of a doctor – 1 tablet every 6-8 hours, no more than 4 tablets per day (60 mg of dextromethorphan).
Action
Tussal Antitussicum has antitussive properties by suppressing the cough center in the central nervous system. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough of various origins due to its central action – it reduces its severity and frequency.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of dry (non-productive, not associated with retention of secretions in the respiratory tract) cough.
Contraindications
Tussal Antitussive should not be used in case of: hypersensitivity to the active substance – dextromethorphan hydrobromide or any of the other ingredients of the drug; bronchial asthma, inflammation of the lower respiratory tract, respiratory failure or if there is a risk of its occurrence; severe liver failure; use of MAO inhibitors or if they were taken within the last 14 days; cough with phlegm; breast-feeding; children under 6 years old.”
