Scope
The drug is an antispasmodic (antispasmodic) agent.
The pills are used for mild to moderate spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as for cramping abdominal pain in irritable bowel syndrome.
Dosage.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:
Adults and children aged 6 years and over:
1-2 tablets 3 times a day (single dose: 10-20 mg, maximum daily dose 60 mg butylscopolamine bromide).
Duration of use
Do not take the tablets for more than 5 days without consulting your doctor.
Contraindication
You should not take the medicine
if you are allergic to butylscopolamine bromide or any other ingredient in this medicine.
if you have or are suspected of having a mechanical narrowing (stenosis) of the gastrointestinal tract (for example, due to a tumor or a kink in the intestine).
if your intestine is blocked and does not work properly (paralytic or obstructive ileus (intestinal paralysis or intestinal obstruction)). Symptoms include severe abdominal pain with no bowel movements and/or nausea/vomiting.
in case of pathological enlargement of the colon (megacolon).
in case of urinary retention due to mechanical narrowing of the urinary tract (for example, enlargement of the prostate gland).
in glaucoma (angle-closure glaucoma).
with abnormally accelerated heartbeat, palpitations and irregular heartbeat.
in myasthenia gravis (a special form of pathological muscle weakness).”
