“Causes a dose-dependent inhibition of keratinocyte proliferation (increase in the number of cells in the surface layer of the skin), which is significantly increased in patients with psoriasis and accelerates their morphological differentiation. Has a slight effect on the metabolism of calcium in the body.
Indications for use: Psoriasis.
Compound:
1 g of ointment contains 50 mcg of calcipotriol
Mode of application:
The ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin 2 times a day. The maximum daily dose of the drug should not exceed 15 g, and the weekly dose should not exceed 100 g. Typically, the therapeutic effect develops within 1-2 weeks of treatment. The duration of the course of therapy does not exceed 6-8 weeks. After applying the drug, wash your hands thoroughly.
Side effects:
In rare cases, transient skin irritation may occur. When using the drug in large doses exceeding the recommended ones, hypercalcemia (increased calcium levels in the blood) is possible, which quickly disappears when the dose is reduced or the drug is discontinued.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug. Use with caution in children. It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy. Should not be used in conjunction with topical salicylic acid preparations. It is not recommended to apply the drug to the skin of the face.
