Efferalgan 80 mg suppositories contain paracetamol .
It is indicated in cases of pain and/or fever such as headaches, flu-like illness, dental pain, aches.
This presentation is reserved for infants weighing 4 to 6 kg (approximately 1 to 4 months).
Each suppository provides 80 mg of paracetamol. Its other components are semi-synthetic glycerides.
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol depends on the child’s weight: it is 60 mg/kg/day, divided into 4 doses, or approximately 15 mg/kg every 6 hours.
This presentation is suitable for infants weighing 4 to 6 kg (approximately 1 to 4 months), the dosage is one 80 mg suppository, to be renewed if necessary after 6 hours without exceeding 4 suppositories per day.
Because of the risk of rectal irritation, suppository administration should be as short as possible, and should not exceed 4 doses per day. As soon as possible, this treatment should be replaced by the oral route.
In case of diarrhea, the suppository form is not suitable.
