Application areas
The medicine is a preparation for use in the nose (rhinological) and contains the alpha-sympathomimetic xylometazoline.
Xylometazoline has vasoconstrictor properties and as a result causes swelling of the mucous membrane.
It is used
To reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa during colds, episodic runny nose (vasomotor rhinitis) and allergic rhinitis (allergic rhinitis).
The medicine is suitable for children from 2 to 6 years old.
If your child does not feel better or even worsens after 7 days, consult a doctor.
Dosage
The recommended dose is:
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, children aged 2-6 years are instilled 1 drop in each nostril up to 3 times a day as needed.
Duration of use:
The medicine should not be used for more than 7 days without a doctor’s prescription. Repeated use should be carried out only after a break of several days.
Due to the risk of wrinkling the nasal mucosa, it can only be used under the supervision of a doctor if you have a chronic cold.
Contraindications
The drug should not be used
if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
with a certain form of chronic cold (dry rhinitis);
in conditions after surgical removal of the pineal gland through the nose (transsphenoidal hypophysectomy) or other surgical interventions exposing the meninges;
in infants and young children up to 2 years of age.”
