“Compound
The active ingredient is amorolfine.
1 ml of varnish contains 50 mg of amorolfine (which corresponds to 55.74 mg of amorolfine hydrochloride).
Excipients: ammonium methacrylate copolymer (type A), triacetin, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, anhydrous ethanol.
Dosage
The medicine should be used externally on sore nails. The effectiveness of treatment should be assessed every 3 months (based on the regrowth of the nail plate).
The dosage and detailed description of the use of the drug can be found in the package insert. Undofen Amorolfin is applied once a week to the filed and degreased surface of diseased nails (hands and/or feet). The polish should be used continuously until the infection goes away and a healthy nail grows back. The duration of treatment depends on the severity and location of the infection. For arms, the duration of therapy is approximately 6 months, for legs – from 9 to 12 months.
Action
Amorolfine contained in the varnish has an antifungal effect. Undofen Amorolfine acts on various types of fungi that cause nail fungus, such as dermatophytes, yeast and mold fungi.
Indications
Undofen Amorolfine is used to treat nail fungus caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds and limited to two nails and the top and sides of these nails. An indication for the use of medicinal varnish is also a fungal infection of the nail plate with a change in the color of the nail plate (white, yellow or brown discoloration) or thickening of the nail plate.
Contraindications
Undofen Amorolfine medicinal varnish should not be used by people who are allergic to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
Warnings and Precautions
While using the drug, do not apply cosmetics such as nail polishes or use artificial nails on the nail plate.
Before using Undophen Amorolfine, consult your doctor if you have: diabetes, treatment for a weakened immune system, poor circulation in the feet and hands, or severely damaged or infected nails.
When the patient comes into contact with solvents, impervious protective gloves should be used to protect the applied varnish from dissolution.
Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.
